Is eating octopus disgusting?

There is only one food i can't resist and that is pre_cooked octopus marinated in olive oil with capers and green olives. I like the slightly hardened meat and it's chewiness (greek style). I purchased it regularly but every time cashiers see my pre-cooked octopus with tentacles and everything, they act as if i am an alien from another planet.
