My starfish is not breathing?

Starfish are saltwater creatures- they require saltwater to live; also, you cannot simply dump table salt in water and try again- the sea is a very balanced ecosystem with a specific number of chemicals and natural salts. The starfish cannot live in fresh water- what you and I drink- and is likely dead.
