What kind of animal is this?

I found a bug, it has the shape of a beetle but its outer shell is soft as if it has no shell just skin. It is a purple/grey with pinkish streaks running up and down. it has three legs on each side and appears to have 2 tentacles on the front. does anyone know what this bug is?
