The whole group sounds controlling. You don't have to comply to a rule that you can't talk to someone you want to talk to, if you want to talk to her, you go talk to her, don't ask for someone's permission. There shouldn't even be rules in a circle of friends. They cannot influence who you like and who you don't, or hold you back from liking him, or letting your feelings show, because they are YOUR feelings. They're not true friends if they tell you that he wouldn't date you, they're probably jealous, because he probably will. You shouldn't have to bow down to your friends and answer to them. You're in the worst circle of friends you could be in, and I suggest you get out as soon as you can, as safely as you can.
