I cant get into morrowind?

i love oblivion. it was the first tes game i played. i "borrowed" morrowind from my friend thinking it would be awesome as oblivion. i cant get into it. 1, fast travel isnt there, i didnt use it much in oblivion, but still, theres parts were i would like to have it. 2 the fighting is a little off to me. 3, no noob arrow, i know its unskilled to use it but i still need it, im retarted when it comes to findinng places without something showing me were to go. i really want to get into morrowind, i really do, theres so many choices, i love the armor system, just everything except those things. and no graphics dont bother me, is there a way i can get past these? im really bored.
