Problems with BT Yahoo Mail?

When I go into my email via the envelope icon to read mail I usually hit the back arrow which would normally take me back to mail listings to enable me to read other mail - since changing to the new system I am always being returned to the home page !! Can anyone explain why this happens and how do I correct this ?
