Why won't my iPhone 4 keyboard turn to the side?

i already tried that thing were u push the home button twice and i have been turning that arrow thing on and off but the keyboard just won't turn to the side. and no don't say "some apps don't support )whatever mode u call it were it turns to the side)" like some dumbass said. i said keyboard. not app. but its only in messaging when the keyboard won't turn and its pissing me off. i tried almost everything. HELP ME PLIZZZ!!! >:|
